About me
Hi there!
Hi, I’m Machatarn, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to The Magic Box!
A place where magic is created from clay.
Pottery has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I first fell in love with clay when I was just 16 years old, and since then, it’s been a constant source of joy, inspiration, and solace in my life.
For me, pottery isn’t just about creating beautiful objects—it’s a form of meditation, a way to quiet the mind and connect with my innermost thoughts and feelings. There’s something truly magical about the way clay responds to the touch of my hands, transforming from a lump of earth into something exquisite and unique.
Now, as I approach my sixth decade, my enthusiasm for pottery is stronger than ever. I’ve spent a lifetime honing my craft, experimenting with different techniques and styles, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with clay.
But more than anything, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and love for pottery with others. That’s why I founded The Magic Box—a place where people of all ages and skill levels can come together to learn, create, and connect through the art of pottery.
I have years of experience working with adults with various disabilities, mental illnesses, autism and other special needs and take time to tailor classes to suit individual requirements, interests and skill levels.
For most of my career, I have worked with children and youth in early childhood centres, after school and vacation care, youth centres and high schools and embrace the opportunity to pass on my skills to all ages and abilities with patience and understanding.
Whether you’re a seasoned potter or a complete beginner, I invite you to join me on this journey of discovery. Let’s explore the endless possibilities of clay together and unlock the magic of pottery!
Warm regards,
Machatarn
